Paf Open - the hottest event in the Nordic region!

Swatch FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour
Paf Open is a tournament for men and women on the international world tour of beach volleyball - Swatch FIVB World Tour. The event is hosted at the Arkipelag Arena in the city centre of Mariehamn during the third week of August. The competition gathers the very best world class beach volleyball players from all over the world.

Beach volleyball - the most equal of all sports
The athletes are competing for 380'000 US dollar of prize money and valuable ranking points that are used to gain status in the world rankings as well as entry to the World Championships and Olympic Games. Beach volleyball is the most equal of all sports due to the equal split of prize money and tv hours between men and women since 1998.

Paf Open is unique
Paf Open is unique thanks to the fact that it is the only event on the Swatch FIVB World Tour that are hosted by two countries - Finland and Sweden. The competition is broadcasted in Finland, Sweden and internationally. The vision is that Paf Open will develop into one of the major annual sports events in the Nordic region.

Third edition during 2010
Paf Open was hosted for the first time in 2007. Due to a calendar clash with the Olympic Games in Beijing 2008 Paf Open had a break and the second edition of Paf Open was hosted during the third week of August 2009. Paf Open 2010 will be the third edition of the event.
